Infrared (IR) chemical identifiers are now common hazmat tools, but they have limited utility for us when the library search doesn’t produce a match.

This advanced hands-on workshop for current IR users presents practical tips and a systematic approach for getting more information out of the devices than is stored in their computer libraries.

Determining chemical hazard classes categories from spectral landmarks will be discussed.

Interactive exercises with actual samples allow students to practice the techniques and learn the true capability of IR technology.
