The theme of the 2011 South Atlantic FIRE RESCUE Expo and the 124th Annual Conference for the North Carolina State Firemen’s Association was “Commitment”.
With 3,000 fire and rescue service members from across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and other surrounding states we can certainly say we saw that theme in action.
There was a commitment to learning with nearly thirty sessions offering training on some of the most important topics in our industry today.
There was a commitment to honoring those brothers and sisters that have fallen in the last year at the North Carolina Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation Memorial and Candlelight Services.
There was a commitment to staying informed on the most up to date items available in the industry with more than 150,000 square feet of exhibitor space displaying trucks, apparatus, and gear.
And maybe, most importantly, there was a commitment to each other. Being in this line of work takes commitment; when 3000 firefighters and rescue workers come together they clearly exhibit their commitment to each other.
