Baltimore City Fire Department
Friday, August 14
8:00am – 9:30am
In today’s dynamic fire service “Thinking outside of the Box” is a skill not often performed; due to departmental policies and procedures that are in place. Many times, “sticking to the book” will prevent the “Officer in Charge” from making life changing decisions. Members of the class will understand the importance of handling day to day responsibilities as well as emergency response techniques, while ensuring that the team concept is continued from the station to the response. Members will be continuously reminded of how “Pride and Tradition” goes hand in hand with operating on the fire ground. Members will be challenged with various scenarios that will assist in a successful mission on the fire ground. Throughout the lecture members will be encouraged to join in and discuss various strategies and tactics that will aid “First due Officers and Chief Officers” alike in making proper decisions on the scene. If you want to “Hit It from the Yard” this lecture is not for you………….
To ensure firefighters to Chief Officers understand that written policies and procedures are guidelines and are used to start the thought process. Attendees will also be challenged with scenarios.
