SAFRE 2021 COVID-19 Statement:
The health and wellbeing of our SAFRE attendees is our top priority. To ensure the safety of all who attend #SAFRE2021 several safety measures will be put into place during this year’s South Atlantic FIRE RESCUE Expo. A few of the precautions include:
- Masks are required to be worn (with a snug fit, covering both the mouth and nose; no valves or vents on the mask) by ALL in attendance while inside the Raleigh Convention Center.
- Social distancing is required to be observed in all sessions, on the expo floor and in all general gathering areas (i.e. registration areas, hallways, restrooms, etc)
- Wellness scans/temperature checks will be performed on anyone entering the Raleigh Convention Center each day.
- The Raleigh Convention Center takes your safety very seriously. They have increased their already-stringent cleaning procedures in the wake of COVID-19 and have received their GBAC STAR™ accreditation. You can read more about their cleaning protocols and commitment to attendee safety here.
Please know that the Staff and the Board of Directors for the North Carolina State Firefighters’ Association hope to safely host their Annual Meeting and the South Atlantic FIRE RESCUE Expo in person at the Raleigh Convention Center August 11-14, 2021. However, it is possible that conditions and guidelines are such that we are unable to meet in person this year. An alternate schedule or a cancelation may be necessary for the safety and well-being for all SAFRE participants.
Please be assured that we are closely monitoring the current situation with the COVID-19 virus and will follow any and all recommendations from the North Carolina Governor’s Office, the CDC, NCDHHS and the City of Raleigh.
